Me in a nutshell...
Someone told me yesterday that, and I quote,
"...you've got a lot going on."
My dear, you have no idea.
A single mom working two jobs with a kid and multiple animals in my household, I feel I'm typically running on fumes most days as I balance a million and one different priorities. I'm not foolish enough to think I'm alone in the chaos, however. I believe we've all entered a world of high demand and little rest, no matter what our life circumstances are.

All that being said, I like to think of myself as a fairly positive person. Things haven't always gone my way but I feel as if I've been abnormally blessed throughout the course of my life. I spent almost a decade on active duty with the Navy where I got to see the world and gain some valuable work and life experiences.
Now I'm settled in a very comfortable career (and still working in the Navy Reserves, hence the "two jobs" comment earlier). I have plans to start my Master's this Fall. My wonderful son is an incredible boy who keeps me grounded and I'm pretty sure I have the most well-behaved dogs on the planet.
While it has taken a lot to get here, I feel like I'm entering a phase of my life where I can finally start prioritizing some of the things I want to do. Like writing. It has always been a passion of mine, something I've done continuously since I could pick up a pencil. But I am finally at a point where I feel comfortable with myself and my life circumstances that I want to put myself out there...
Could I fail and face heartache? Possibly (or leaning more into probably). But I am absolutely going to enjoy the ride. I write because the stories and characters trapped in my head make me want to get them out. Whether others' enjoy them as much as I do, I guess that has yet to be seen.
No matter what, this is going to be a fun ride so come along with me and let's see what happens.
